Leon Bowers (b.1981) is an Australian artist, currently based in Naarm/Melbourne. His paintings move between observation, memory and constructed imagery. Circling psychological and ecological tensions embedded in contemporary life. Working through layering and gesture he uses painting as a way of thinking through instability, where images shift between recognition and dissolution.

He completed a Master of Contemporary Art at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2025, following an earlier Diploma in Graphic Design completed in 2000. He also completed the Turps Banana Painting Programme in London in 2019. After fifteen years working in London across advertising and fashion, he returned to Melbourne to focus on painting as a sustained studio practice.

He has undertaken residencies at PADA in Lisbon and Casa Lü in Mexico City and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across London, Lisbon, Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles.
